Biography
Michal Mozes (b. 1980) is an Israeli painter living and working in Tel Aviv. She studied drawing and painting under Shlomi Hagai at the Israel Arts and Science Academy in Jerusalem (1995–1998) and holds a B.Des in Fashion Design from Shenkar College.
Rooted in close observation of everyday life, her paintings transform domestic objects, flowers, family photographs, and intimate scenes into explorations of color, light, memory, and personal history. In recent years, in response to a period of collective grief, flowers and mourning wreaths have become recurring motifs in her work. These subjects also connect to her childhood in a moshav, where she grew up in a family of flower growers.
Through seemingly ordinary subjects, Mozes creates quietly charged narratives in which intimacy, memory, and collective experience intersect.
