Liat Elbling

Israel Born in: 1980
Liat Elbling is a photographer, born in 1980 in Israel, and lives in Tel Aviv.

He studied at the Minshar Art Photography School of Tel Aviv from 2005 until the 2009 and graduated with honors.

The artist's work highlights our manner of using and perceiving photography and treating it as a medium. We are used to expressing ourselves through images, they thereby become a new digital language, in which truth is valued. This is questioned by Liat Elbling, who plays around with the photographic construction.

Elbling reverses the two-dimensional conception to this art, therefore one doesn't have to represent the real, as the practice is now acquired by photography. The artist wants to surpass himself. Liat Elbling works with spaces and architectural rules. He goes beyong usual graphic frontiers and immerses us in a new world, which revolves around realism.

Liat Elbing is part of the community at Alfred Gallery which supports young photographers. In 2013, he was awarded the Hammer Prize during the Fresh Paint Art Fair in Tel Aviv and has exhibited in several museums such as the Art Museum in Haifa.
