My art works are born from a respect for what is already beautiful and then given new life. I use wood, canvas, paper and paint, combined with other industrial and natural materials. I have always been attracted to old walls, crust, rust. My creative process extends beyond “recycling art”, for me, I call my new art direction “Metacycling”.
The materials go through a special metamorphosis through my creative refining and abstraction processes.
When it’s time to embark on a new art piece, it begins with a concrete idea in my mind that I wish to develop with the materials I have found and collected. I rely on the materials’ natural reactions, such as metal rust, mold in natural objects, and the weathering of wood, copper, steel and old paper parts.
