Biography
Namisen (波線) is a young artist from the new Japanese modern art scene. Originally from the suburbs of Osaka, she is a master - Shihan (師範) - the highest rank in the Japanese calligraphic art - Shodou (書道)
After a stint at the School of Fine Arts in Nagoya, and influenced by the work of Ernst Kolb, she refined a unique and characteristic style thanks to which she represents these subjects by fine and multiple lines, until in obtain disconcerting light and shadow portraits.
Her favorite subjects are characters from anime, manga and movies from her childhood as well as American icons.
She was discovered by the Mind The Gap label, in Tokyo in 2019. She a MTG exclusive artist since 2022.
