A leading figure in the contemporary Japanese calligraphy scene, Gen Miyamura collaborates with famous brands such as Seiko and designed the decorations for the Aman Hotel.

Biography

Born in 1980, Gen Miyamura graduated from Niigata University, where he majored in calligraphy. In his thirties, he twice won the prestigious Mainichi Prize, Japan's largest calligraphy competition. Drawing on his expertise acquired through years of study, Miyamura is an artist who combines technical mastery with a unique aesthetic sensibility. He creates dynamic calligraphies and abstract works that explore the rhythm of brushstrokes and the relationship between ink and negative space. His works adorn luxury hotels such as the Aman Tokyo. He also collaborates with prestigious brands such as Seiko, Shiseido, and Diptyque.
