Biography
The work of Beatriz Morales is based on a investigation of identity, projected into the canvas onto several layers awaiting to be found on the surface. The artist does a physical research in the canvas, she opens the surface so the first colors appear, as in a search of something deeper. The scratch and holes in the outside, reveal the profundity that is hidden within the artwork.
Beatriz Morales is born in 1981 in Mexico City, where she starts to develop her art technique in a autodidact way since a very young age. She leaves Mexico in 2001 to go study fashion design in Europe. She lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
