Biography

Hiba Khamlichi is a recognized contemporary Moroccan artist for her world of abstract painting where art, mathematics, and symbolism meet. Very young, she develops a personal artistic practice and asserts a singular visual identity based on a plastic language she calls ABADA. Developed from the age of eight, this artistic vocabulary is based on a system of signs, shapes, and compositions inspired notably by the Fibonacci sequence, the Golden Ratio, and the principles of harmony present in nature.

Through her works, Hiba Khamlichi explores the notions of balance, rhythm, memory, and spirituality. Her abstract compositions associate vibrant colors, dynamic lines, and recurring symbols to create a dialogue between artistic intuition and geometric structure. Her work is part of a research approach where references to sciences, Moroccan cultural traditions, and contemporary expression converge to give birth to a universal visual language.

The artist considers painting as a means of transmitting emotions and reflections while offering an open reading of her creations. Her style, immediately recognizable, is distinguished by a rich graphic writing and a meticulous organization of the pictorial space, inviting the viewer to discover multiple levels of interpretation.

Throughout her career, Hiba Khamlichi has exhibited her work in numerous exhibitions in Morocco and internationally, participating in a hundred artistic events as well as several biennials. Her work has also been awarded numerous international distinctions, testifying to the growing recognition of her artistic approach among contemporary art professionals.

Today, Hiba Khamlichi continues to develop her ABADA language, asserting a practice where abstraction, geometry, symbols, color, and mathematical proportions become the foundations of a singular work. Her work is part of the landscape of contemporary Moroccan painting and contributes to the radiance of Moroccan artistic creation on the international scene.
