Biography
Olajire Olalekan is a self-taught artist born and raised in Ibadan. He was fascinated with art since childhood, he grew up with his uncle who was a cartoonist. Having finished high school he worked as a gallery attendant where his love for art deepened and he took had to enroll as a student under Mr.
Tope Fatunmbi as an apprentice. While working as a freelance artist since 2019 he started as a full-time studio artist in 2021. He derives inspiration from nature and ancient building structures where in grew up. He works majorly in oil and acrylic depicting figuratively female beauty and the everyday struggle of average African and black people in the diaspora.
