Jerzy Lisak

Born in 1976 in Szczecin, where he graduated from the Liceum Plastyczne im. Constantin Brancusi. He is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (2002). He deals with oil painting, tempera and drawing, using a variety of techniques. He is often inspired by the art of the Renaissance and Baroque eras, which can be seen especially in numerous grotesques. 

He explores the alchemical side of the painting technique, the results of which he uses in his works. Participant of numerous painting plein-airs (e.g. Uher near Chełm, Stoczek Klasztorny, Osieki, Pieńków, Włodawa). His painting Two Figures Inside is in the collection of the National Museum in Gdańsk (MNG/SW/2010/MR). 

In the years 2014-2017, he worked as a painting animator and painting designer in the BreakThru Films team, being the author of the largest number of animation shots for the film "Loving Vincent", which received, among others, the European Film Award (2017) and an Oscar nomination (2018). 

In 2019, Jerzy Lisak, as part of the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg, conducted classes together with Paulina Ołowska, with whom he also participates in other joint projects.
