Malgorzata Pochopien

Malgorzata Pochopien is a painter born in 1950 in Poland, she belongs to the Post-War Ecole de Paris. Lise Cormery organizes her first Solo Show in her art gallery in 1986 and a second in 1988. 

Berlin Wall, erected in 1961 was destroyed only on November 9, 1989, and for Polish artists it was very difficult to find a shelter in France. They had very few allies like Lise Cormery who organized Solo Shows for Wladislaw Klamerus, Zbi and Malgorzata Pochopien, Bonkowski. 

Zbi Pochopien, sculptor, was the husband of Malgorzata and they both lived in Paris in the beginning of the 80's. For her love Zbi stopped sculpture and worked as a construction worker in order to allow her to keep painting. The father of Malgorzata was sick and she had to travel back and forth in order to bring him the right medication, unavailable in Poland. During one of her trip, their parisian flat got on fire, Zbi died in the fire and all Pochopien paintings burnt. Some rare paintings were saved in few art collections, like "Portrait on green" or "Wisdom".
