Die as Trash (DAT)

Born in 1978, DAT is a Portuguese artist with a background of graphic designer. From 2000 he started to simplify his drawing and to paint in the street. At that time he was working on video a lot and started mixing stenciling and video mapping. Currently he is focusing on more complex and meaningful stencils, delivering a strong message. The street is the place where he finds the necessary resources to work on the issues he wishes to develop. A work based on recycled materials and themes taken from everyday life, often integrated into a universe of apocalyptic landscapes. Stencils whose ambition is to make us think about the world in which we live, the direction in which it is leading us and the way we are treated in society.
