Polina's work focuses on the concept of conventional beauty—what society deems decorative or ornamental.

Biography

Polina Shutova is a multidisciplinary artist born in 1994 in Moscow, graduated from the Stroganov State Academy of Arts and Industry. She works mainly in the fields of graphics, sculpture and ceramics, exploring concepts that blend tradition and artistic innovation.

In her works, Polina questions the idea of conventional beauty, what is perceived as ornamental or decorative. She analyzes the compositional laws that define these forms and explores their similarities across eras and aesthetic fields. By transforming and questioning these rules, she seeks to give them new meaning.

His work aims to identify the moment of transition between opposites: between the conventional and the individual, the ideal and the authentic, or the structured and the spontaneous. This artistic journey reveals works that are both refined and alive, opening a reflection on the limits between tradition and innovation in contemporary art.
