Biography
Ruth Álvarez has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca, and a master's degree in Advanced Studies in Art History from the University of Barcelona. Currently, she lives and develops his artistic practice in Oviedo.
Ruth's painting is framed in the context of new contemporary figuration and naive art; it seems to represent a fantasy world where a series of characters and spaces appear made up of vibrant colors and dreamlike places. The return to the natural, the animal, the mystical or the cosmic is pertinent in the work. The characters are characterized by having a dreamy and melancholic attitude.
Ruth's imagination seems to contain a world to be fixed and in turn raises the possibility of another possible place.
