Pilar del Puerto

Pilar del Puerto (Plasencia, 1997) is an artist, researcher, educator, and curator. Her work lies at the intersection of conceptual art, gender perspectives, and new technologies, exploring the affective and material transformations emerging between humans and machines, with a special focus on artificial intelligence, gender construction, and ecology. Through various formalizations, she investigates how technologies reshape daily life, affectivity, and ways of inhabiting the world.

Graduated in Fine Arts, she completed a Master's in Art and Creation Research at UCM and a Master's in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture at Museo Reina Sofía, along with specializing in Gender Perspective in Cultural Industries and Equality Management. She completed research residencies at the Computational Design and Visualization Lab (University of Coimbra), the CNRS Gender and Sexuality Lab in Paris, and the Gino Germani Research Institute (University of Buenos Aires). She was a resident at the Colegio de España in Paris and Artist-in-Residence at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid with the MOBIOCHEM computational chemistry group. Her work has been exhibited in Spain, Canada, Croatia, Italy, Japan, and Turkey, and presented at fairs like JustMad and Hybrid.

She is the founder of the XenoVisual Studies collective, studying new visualities emerging from AI, and was part of the curatorial team at Medialab Matadero. Currently pursuing a PhD in Fine Arts at UCM exploring human-machine affective flows, she also teaches at the Creative Campus of Universidad Europea de Madrid.
