Presentation

Angel Pascual Rodrigo is a Spanish painter born in 1951 in Mallén. In 1969, he published his first graphic works with JJ Campos. In 1970 he began to collaborate with his brother Vicente Pascual Rodrigo, forming a graphic and pictorial team which in 1974 was renamed the "Aragonese pictorial brotherhood". Until 1989, the two brothers worked together uninterruptedly. He has made 56 individual exhibitions, several collective modifications and designs, including which include the initial Andalan graphic line diary in 1972. During a temporary disbandment of the team in 1974, he found the texts of Joan Mascaró Fornés and later those of Marco Pallis, Frithjof Schuon and other perennialist writers who led him to rethink his life and his work. As a result, he directed his work towards nature and traditional knowledge. He subsequently devoted himself to a plastic and conceptual revision of the landscape by its special expressive ductility and transparency. Other consequences of these changes were their residence in rural areas and the continuous journeys to Europe, Africa, Asia and America in search of contact with the permanent and unambiguous elements of the traditions.
