Biography
Jaider grew up near Avilès, an industrial city in Asturias, on the northern coast of Spain. Even though he grew up 10 km from the sea, he turned his back on him until he was 20, when he started surfing.
At the same time, a camera fell into his hands, almost by accident. He immediately tried to convey everything he saw and impressed him so much: the strength of the "Cantabrico" during winter storms, the evening light on the beach, the perfect lines that reach the shore ...
His portfolio is a summary of epic sessions, little moments that caught his eye and great local surfers. It is the result of many hours dedicated to photography, on the beach of course, but also trips by car to be in the right place.
It does not present exotic destinations, nor pro surfers. Through his photos, he simply offers a portrait of the area in which he lives and surfs. His work is a "declaration of admiration and passion" for the ocean and surfing, and a way to get closer to it.
