Biography

Hanna Herder paints provocative, thought-provoking portraits and figures in acrylic: art where form, colour and humour question norms and power structures. A trained art educator with a degree from Konstfack in Stockholm and a solid background in art and design, she has developed an expression in which classical portrait painting meets contemporary social commentary. Her work turns gender roles, beauty ideals and historical norms inside out, sometimes with an ironic smile, sometimes with serious reflection. The combination of strong visual rhetoric, striking colour and symbolism makes her paintings both charm and provoke. Galleri Scandinavia shows a selection of her most expressive original works, chosen for their technical skill and artistic integrity. Works are signed and come with a certificate of authenticity from Galleri Scandinavia, Gothenburg, a family-run gallery established in 1972.
