Sabina Von Essen

Sabina von Essen is an artist and a civil engineer whose passion is technique and art. The combination of those two gives her an unusual approach to the creative process and to art.

“I don't have any formal education in art and to me that is a strength. I create my own rules and I can allow myself to be naïve and childlike" she says.

Sabina creates independent and original works in acrylic. The subjects in her paintings represent situations and surroundings that have touched her during her childhood as well as her own emotions. The compositions can therefore be seen as abstract interpretations of the artist's view of life. Her modern work, creating a new aspect of life, has been much appreciated. Sabina often works in gold and silver to get a unique effect which gives an extra shimmer and a more lifelike effect on her works.

With a strong belief in technique her goal is to find the breaking point between art and technique, and in that way, give us a new digital way of looking at art.
