Biography
Born on 10 April 1955 in Zurich, Schmid is a freelance artist living in Bichelsee, with a workshop in Wetzikon in the Zurich Oberland. Her works are inspired by various trips to Italy, Spain, Africa, Russia and Sri Lanka.
The artist's work has clearly been influenced by the south. The resulting landscapes have become more and more abstract as the years have passed, without losing their original motifs of nature and earth.
Since 1994, Sonja has exhibited her pictures at home and abroad, in locations including Barcelona, Moscow, Ferrara, Verona, Bonn and Mannheim. Her pictures can be found both in private ownership and in public spaces.
