Biography
Barbara Howey was born in Chippenham England. She studied at Leeds University and Norwich School of Art. She works in oil on board and in watercolour.
One of the main themes of Barbara Howey's work concerns issues of loss and memory which is conveyed through ideas of landscape. The landscapes depicted are urban edgelands, old uninhabited camps, the suburbs on the edges of cities, defunct airports, places and spaces that exist on the periphery of memory, the psyche and history.
