Biography
Darren Johnson was born in London. He currently lives in Marseille and graduated in fine arts/ illustration from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He works as a free-lance concept artist for the animation and vidéo game industry but also does gallery work. His commercial work is different to his personal work but they both have an influence on each other . His personal work is made of characters and symbolical objects. His use of ink drawings and acrylic paint creates a visually rich environment. His patchwork style, like collage, represents the chaotic side of the different elements of what our lives are made of. In his work he often wonders about the randomness of steps we take in our lifes which define our personnalities and which are often the cause of our neurosis. Drawing is also a way to exorcise his neurosis and phobias or show those of others.
