Biography

Francis Morton-Johnson (1878–1931) was an American who left his native Massachusetts to further his artistic training in Paris. There, he studied under Jean-Paul Laurens at the Académie Julian and adopted a Post-Impressionist style that brought him success at the Salons and led to the purchase of one of his works by the French state.
