Natalia Kakhtiurina

Natalia Kakhtiurina is a contemporary artist whose work is deeply rooted in the traditions of plein-air painting and lyrical landscape art. A graduate of the Penza Art School, she has maintained an active artistic practice for more than three decades, combining classical Russian painting traditions with a personal, emotionally driven approach to nature and atmosphere.

A member of the Creative Union of Artists and the National Society of Pastelists, Natalia artworks across painting, watercolor, pastel, graphics, and decorative art. Her artistic language is centered on light, seasonality, and fleeting emotional impressions found in everyday natural scenes. Rather than depicting landscape as static scenery, she treats it as a living emotional experience shaped by weather, memory, and human presence.

Travel plays an important role in her practice. Creative journeys through the Golden Ring of Russia, Greece, France, and Germany expanded her visual vocabulary and deepened her sensitivity to color and atmosphere. Provence occupies a particularly meaningful place in her work, inspired by its light, lavender fields, sea landscapes, and historical connection to artists such as Van Gogh and Monet.

Natalia’s artworks are distinguished by luminous color, delicate observation of natural states, and a strong emotional connection to ordinary moments: autumn fog above a river, flowering lilacs beside a small house, winter light through birch trees, or summer water lilies reflected on still water. Her works invite viewers into quiet contemplation, emphasizing beauty, tenderness, and emotional warmth.

Throughout her career, Natalia Kakhtiurina has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Russia and internationally. Her long-standing dedication to plein-air practice and emotional realism has established her as a distinctive voice within contemporary Russian landscape painting.
