Biography
Born in 1977 in Connecticut, Eddie Martinez lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. A self-taught artist, he is known for his bright use of colors in fluid brushstrokes. His paintings demonstrate movement as well as a liveliness in their composition. Making use of acrylic paint, oil, spray paint, Sharpies, and even baby wipes, Martinez's artistic practice reflects a symbiosis between a more traditional Neo-Expressionist approach as well as a more spontaneous and unconventional mode of painting.
