Tinted Popped wood Frame. From the series Currency

As a reflection on the value we give to objects, this series exposes examples of objects that we use daily and for different reasons end up gaining very high prices. By redrawing them the idea is to generate a conversation about what we consider valuable to ourselves, and how that´s a very relative concept.

This framed artwork features the iconic cover of "Detective Comics No. 27" from May 1939, showcasing the debut of a legendary superhero. The vibrant illustration captures a dynamic scene where the caped figure heroically swings into action over a cityscape. The bold use of primary colors—red, yellow, and blue—draws attention to the thrilling rooftop chase, while the city below hints at a bustling metropolis. The title is prominently displayed in a stylized, classic font, accompanied by a label stating “64 pages of action.” The artwork's frame complements its vintage aesthetic, enhancing its historical significance. This piece represents a pivotal moment in comic book history, marking the inception of a cultural icon. Its meticulous presentation preserves the rich legacy of early 20th-century comic artistry.
