Description
Where the fuck is Jimini? is a contemporary artwork created by Mircea Suciu in 2012. Charcoal on drawing paper. Signed on the back - Origin Aeroplastics Brussels Mircea Suciu Born in 1978 in Baia Mare, Romania Lives and works in Bucharest, Romania Mircea Suciu studied painting at the Cluj School of Art in Romania, where he currently teaches. Suciu began his career focusing on the history of visual representation with an emphasis on the human figure that explores questions of identity and isolation. Using images from American advertisements of the 1940s and 1950s, Suciu isolates figures, eliminates backgrounds, and reduces the bold palette of the original ads to seductive monochromes.
Presentation
Ryan Mendoza is an American painter, born in New York, in 1971. A great admirer of Flaubert, he left the United States to travel around Europe, following in the footsteps of American artists from the beginning of the 20th century, and now splits his time between Naples and Berlin.
The artist’s paintings are influenced by a strong dose of eroticism, which is sometimes violent or subtly amusing, and he takes inspiration from photographs bought at flea markets along his unique journeys.
Displayed across a wide range of galleries, in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Belgium, Ryan Mendoza’s artwork has also won over institutions such as the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Trento and the Donna Regina Museum of Contemporary Art (MADRE) in Naples.
The artist’s paintings are influenced by a strong dose of eroticism, which is sometimes violent or subtly amusing, and he takes inspiration from photographs bought at flea markets along his unique journeys.
