Tour Eiffel 1 - Série vue de Paris, 2024

Justine Bonvarlet

This exuberant and vibrant artwork, framed in pale wood that emphasizes its playfulness, presents an urban scene full of life and color. It is distinguished by its tall, narrow buildings in vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and mauve, creating a dynamic verticality that immediately catches the eye. Each building is simplified, almost childlike in its execution, evoking a dreamlike world. The central composition is dominated by the Eiffel Tower. The characters populating the scene - stylized human figures and animals - add to the joyful, carnivalesque atmosphere of the work. The animals, including cats and a bird, are captured in animated poses, breathing life and movement. The trees, slightly leaning on either side of the scene, frame the work with their green foliage, adding a natural touch to this urban composition. The play of textures and the bright palette reinforce the effect of depth and multiplicity of perspectives. This painting is distinguished by its naive yet sophisticated style, a fusion between dream and reality, where each element tells a story and invites the viewer to imaginative exploration. It is a celebration of colors and shapes that arouses curiosity as much as contemplation.
