Juju the robot, 2024

This vibrant and bold artwork falls within the movement of modern expressionism, capturing the essence of raw emotion and originality. The canvas is dominated by an abstract figure whose asymmetrical and exaggeratedly geometric face immediately catches the viewer's attention. The eyes, illustrated in a disproportionate manner, reveal a world of contrasts. The left eye is round and blue, surrounded by a white outline that creates a strong visual impact, while the right eye is formed by overlapping triangles, accentuating a sense of anxiety and tension. The play of bright and disordered colors suggests a complex and enigmatic personality. The mouth, wide and zigzagging, populated by cubic teeth, inspires an imagery that is both grotesque and fascinating. It seems to extend far beyond the face, instilling a sense of silent dialogue with the observer. The triangular and angular patterns that make up the face are accentuated by a rich, saturated color palette, including touches of yellow, purple, and red, that enhance the idea of energy and dynamism. The background, dark but dotted with bright brushstrokes, creates a powerful visual contrast that highlights the central figure. This painting does not simply capture the image—it provokes reflection on identity, perception, and human emotion. Its complexity lies in its ability to fuse chaos and harmony, constantly defying traditional expectations of figurative art. This work is not just seen, it is felt.
