Description
This artwork captures the serene beauty of two pristine white flowers floating gently on the surface of calm, green-tinted water. The composition emphasizes the contrast between the soft, delicate petals and the rich, textured aquatic background. Ethereal light dances across the water, creating intricate patterns that enhance the flowers' purity. The artist's meticulous attention to detail is evident in the subtle play of light and shadow on the petals, evoking a sense of tranquility and timeless elegance. The fluidity of the water is expertly rendered, highlighting its transparent depth and the fragile interaction between flora and environment. This painting invites the viewer into a peaceful, reflective space, celebrating the harmonious interplay between nature's fragility and its enduring beauty. The artwork's unique perspective and exquisite craftsmanship make it a captivating study of natural elegance.
Presentation
Karina Lara is a Bolivian plastic artist specialized in pastel painting. She received a degree in Fine Arts from the University Major of Saint Andrew in La Paz.
He reveres the Flemish still life painting of the 16th and 17th centuries, a genre that in her words: “served artists of the time to demonstrate their discipline and worth as painters". Hence, she favors still life as her main genre, even though she has received multiple recognitions in other genres.
For her still life compositions, she uses local domestic elements, typical of Bolivian culture, like traditional Bolivian terracotta pottery pieces and textiles; exposing with great skill the detail of the varied textures that these objects offer.
Karina Lara hopes that her works, beyond adding warmth and happiness to the homes that receive them; can also serve as a window to her country and its peoples.
