Description
In this sensual work I created a female portrait that explores the quiet elegance and mystery of a beautiful, sensual woman. I wanted to capture a moment of intimate stillness — a fleeting gesture where thought, emotion, and atmosphere dissolve into a soft cloud of smoke. The woman closes her eyes as if listening to her own inner world, embodying the calm confidence and allure of an elegant woman.
The composition is inspired by retro style and the timeless aesthetic of classic chic. Red lips become a powerful accent, symbolizing passion, femininity, and quiet strength. The female face is drawn with delicate lines and soft textures, allowing the viewer to focus on the subtle expression and the intimate mood of the scene.
The contrast between the deep red dress and the pale tones of the skin creates a visual rhythm that evokes vintage cinema and old Parisian elegance. I wanted this portrait to feel both nostalgic and modern — a tribute to feminine beauty.
Presentation
Kristina Mallen, a painter with a background in oil and acrylic mediums.
Her recognisable style infuses the sophistication of Art Deco, the pop of Pop Art with a dominant focus on the female figure, manifesting elegance and eroticism. Her work exudes the extravagance, classical chic, and charm of women, striking a balance between provocation and the sublime.
