Jules BE KUTI is an emerging artist born in 1993. His work explores questions of identity, memory, and representation in contemporary societies. Through his practice, he is interested in how individual experiences interact with the social and cultural realities of the world today.
Having grown up in France, he draws on the richness of Black cultures and uses art as a space for intimate reflection. His works celebrate diversity while addressing themes such as identity, discrimination, and marginalization.
Working primarily with painting and collage, Jules BE KUTI pays particular attention to facial features, especially the eyes, nose, and mouth, which he considers the most powerful vehicles for emotional expression. This approach creates an intuitive connection between the subject and the viewer, inviting the latter to enter physically and emotionally into the story depicted.
In 2025, his work was presented at AKAA Art Fair (Paris), Movart Gallery (Lisbon), 154 Contemporary African Art Fair (New York), The Moore in Miami during Art Basel Miami, the Christoffer Egelund Gallery (Copenhagen) and The Bishop Gallery (New York).
