Description
This drawing depicts a corner of Old Tbilisi, my hometown and the capital of Georgia—an ancient country with a rich cultural heritage reflected in its distinctive architecture. This particular scene captures part of the historic city center, where ornate balconies, narrow streets, and historic buildings tell the story of centuries past.
Created entirely in black ink, the drawing focuses on the beauty of architectural form, texture, and detail rather than color. Through this work, I wanted to preserve the timeless character of Old Tbilisi and share the unique atmosphere of the city that has inspired me throughout my life.
The artwork will be carefully packaged and shipped rolled in a protective tube to ensure safe international delivery.
Presentation
Tamar Mindiashvili is a Georgian artist whose work explores the space between architecture and abstraction, memory and imagination. Holding a Master's Degree in Academic Drawing, she works across detailed ink drawings and contemporary abstract painting, creating visual narratives that blend observation with emotional expression.
Inspired by the atmosphere of Tbilisi, Tamar's architectural drawings capture the intricate beauty of the city's balconies, streets, and historic buildings, revealing both their structural character and poetic essence. Alongside these works, her abstract paintings employ fluid acrylic techniques, expressive textures, and dynamic color relationships to evoke movement, energy, and transformation.
Through the interplay of line, texture, and color, Tamar creates visual spaces where architectural precision meets emotional depth. Her work reflects a strong connection to Georgian cultural heritage while exploring universal themes of place, memory, and human experience.
Balancing spontaneity with control, Tamar combines precise draftsmanship with the organic flow of paint on paper and canvas. This dialogue between structure and freedom defines her artistic practice, inviting viewers to experience familiar environments through a contemplative and imaginative lens.
