Description
Hidden Water invites the viewer to pause and look closer. Through a natural arch of reeds, a secret world reveals itself — still water in deep teal and blue, sheltered from the outside. No horizon, no sky. Just this quiet, hidden place that feels strangely familiar.
This work is part of the series — landscapes without a specific location that everyone feels they have seen before. Painted with acrylic and oil on canvas, combining fluid washes with fine detailed brushwork, the painting captures the tension between concealment and discovery. The texture of the reeds is built up in multiple layers, creating depth and movement against the stillness of the water below.
This listing offers a fine art print of the original — not the painting itself. Produced as a museum-quality giclée print, it reproduces the depth of colour and texture of the original work with archival inks.

Presentation
Evgenija Koch was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and now lives and works in Hannover, Germany. She trained in drawing and painting at the Russian Academy of Arts, St. Petersburg, combining this classical foundation with technical precision from her earlier studies in mechanical engineering. Since 2000, she has continued her practice in oil painting, working with visible brushstrokes on canvas — a deliberate departure from her earlier, smoother abstract work.
Koch's paintings sit at the intersection of memory and the present. Her landscapes draw on the tension between her Russian heritage and her life in Germany, exploring how personal history and the political present shape the places we carry with us. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Art Basel Miami, SwissArtExpo Zürich, and most recently at Norton Rose Fulbright in Luxembourg, and is held in several corporate collections across Europe.
