Description
This abstract work of art, of remarkable finesse and complexity, immediately imposes itself on the observer by its captivating and nuanced composition. The layers of paint are applied in such a way as to create textures that oscillate between the tangible and the suggestive, playing skillfully with opacity and transparency. The dominant tones - a subtle spectrum of creams, grays and earthy nuances - blend harmoniously into one another, creating an atmosphere that is both serene and intriguing. Several areas of the canvas exhibit an eroded patina, evoking a passage of time, while other parts seem to fade, revealing touches of light that bring brilliance without abrupt rupture. This play of contrasts between erasure and presence, between warm hues and cool nuances, offers visual and emotional depth. Each glance at the work reveals new aspects, revealing fragments of emotions and reminiscences of mental landscapes. It is undeniable that this painting provokes prolonged contemplation, each detail calling to be explored and interpreted. Presentation
Professional painter, I live in southern Ardèche. My activity as a painter manages my daily life.
I am drawn to people and more particularly to portraits. After a figurative and classical period, I am heading today towards a more contemporary work. I transport myself from the figurative universe to the borders of abstraction.
In contact with the oil paint, the portrait takes shape, associating the material with the harmony of colors. I like to play with the different hues by making the lights shimmer between them.
The knife is an essential tool to express my work. Each canvas makes me pass through doubt, pleasure, strength, even obsession. The portrait is a theme that makes me vibrate, and that remains for me to constantly renew.
My pictorial style aims to make each portrait come alive by creating the emotion that I want to share.
