Description
Burned Out.
Material and its contrasts dominate here. Like an island emerging from a sea of oil, a rough and rugged shape comes to life. This shape bears the traces of time: scratched, scarified, painted, burned, then repainted, it tells a story of transformation and resilience. On one “arm" of this island, a mechanical aluminum graft catches the eye. Twisted, broken, perhaps a tool, or a weapon. It seems to bear witness to a confrontation.
A gripping duel between the organic and the technological.
Presentation
Born in 1982 in Rouen, France
Graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (ENSAD) in 2008 with the congratulations of the jury.
After several graphic novel publications in the 2000s, Raphaël Terrier delved into digital technologies and explored their creative potential.
At the beginning of the 2020s, the need to rediscover direct contact with matter emerged.
