The oil painting on Cardboard titled "Bells over the river" captures a romantic and sun-drenched cityscape that feels both timeless and dreamlike. Set in what evokes the ambiance of Venice or another historic European city built on water, this composition radiates the harmonious charm of human architecture, nature, and light. Dominating the right side of the canvas are majestic domes and bell towers, softly rendered in pastel yellows, golds, and creams, crowned with hints of lavender and rose. These architectural elements, although stylized and impressionistic, carry a strong sense of presence. Their curved silhouettes rise into a sky filled with swirling strokes of blue and soft lilac clouds, suggesting a clear afternoon in late spring or summer. The sun seems to wash over the stone facades, bathing the buildings in warm light that glows and reflects vibrantly in the rippling canal below. The water, a key element in this work, stretches across the foreground in tones of emerald, turquoise, violet, and gold. It acts as a liquid mirror, reflecting both the buildings and the sky in a shimmering, diffused rhythm. The reflections are not precise but painterly, rippling with movement and color. Zhitomir artist Suprunchuk Yuri Sergeevich Born on April 11, 1961, in the city of Zhitomir. Graduated from the Zheleznogorsk Art School, Russia (1982). Teachers in the specialty: V. Chukuev, E. Nikulin. Painter. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2002). Major works: "Near the house" (2005), "Winter on the outskirts of Zhitomir" (2006), "Autumn still life" (2004). Lived and worked in the city of Zhitomir.
