An almost cinematic scene, cut in two like a fragmented memory.
On one hand, an explosive visual language: pop imagery bursts forth with force, saturated with vibrant colors and thick lines. The "POW!" snaps like a distant comic book echo, while the speech bubble instills a strange, almost ironic sweetness. Everything seems frozen in a youthful, noisy, almost unreal energy.
On the other hand, the weight of reality.
An elderly man walks away slowly, absorbed by the dark architecture with its cold reflections. His posture is closed, almost introspective. He doesn't look at the image behind him—or perhaps he can no longer see it. His shadow stretches across the ground, like a trace of passing time, fragile and irreversible.

between memory and present, between brilliance and erasure, between what persists in us and what escapes us.

Émilie Pannier, born in 1979, is a contemporary French painter whose work lies at the crossroads of genre painting, urban landscape, and social observation.
Her canvases unfold like a theater of everyday life, where fragments of existence captured in the moment play out. In these seemingly insignificant instants, she reveals a discreet, almost suspended poetry, showing what the hurried eye no longer perceives.
