A scene suspended between two worlds.
On the canvas, a figure from another time — almost a reminiscence of Flemish painting — slowly pours a warm liquid, a precise, eternal gesture frozen in a silent loop. The substance seems to flow right out of the frame, crossing the border between image and reality, sliding down the table and then the painting itself, as if the pigment refused to remain a prisoner of its surface.
Around her, the setting shifts. The walls are no longer quite of the period: tags, inscriptions, fragments of contemporary language emerge like bursts of the present projected onto an ancient scene. The past is infiltrated, disturbed, rewritten.
To the right, a young woman with her back to us moves forward, almost indifferent, anchored in our era. She walks toward this image as one would step into a memory—or perhaps she is stepping out of it. Her stride is light yet charged with tension: is she about to enter the scene or leave it behind forever?
The paved floor, rendered with an almost naive geometry, anchors the composition in a tangible reality, while the colors — warm, saturated, almost seared — envelop the whole in a dense, vibrant atmosphere.
It is a work of friction: between yesterday and today, between classical figuration and urban gestures, between contemplation and movement. An image that does not settle for being watched — it overflows, it questions, it slides gently toward us.

Émilie Pannier, born in 1979, is a contemporary French painter whose work lies at the crossroads of genre painting, urban landscape, and social observation.
Her canvases unfold like a theater of everyday life, where fragments of existence captured in the moment play out. In these seemingly insignificant instants, she reveals a discreet, almost suspended poetry, showing what the hurried eye no longer perceives. Her work is rooted in the tradition of genre painting, while profoundly renewing its conventions through a resolutely contemporary and sensitive approach.
Working in series, Émilie Pannier has built a veritable repertoire of images, each a witness to our time. While her compositions bear the obvious marks of the present, they engage in a subtle dialogue with art history. By invoking ancient references and blending them with her contemporary scenes, she forges a link between different temporalities, reminding us that the present is always constructed in echo of the past.
The female figure occupies a central place in her work. Free and autonomous, her characters evolve in open, universal spaces where boundaries seem to disappear. They embody a strong, silent yet powerful presence, inscribed within the flow of the city.
In a world saturated with images and information, Émilie Pannier champions painting as an act of resistance. Through it, she seeks to suspend time, to capture the ephemeral with precision and intensity. She reveals the hidden beauty of urban structures, capturing subtle movements and the invisible tensions that permeate the city.
His work is based on a subtle mastery of color and light, which gives each canvas a unique atmosphere. Each work thus becomes a window onto reality, a space for contemplation where humanity, architecture, and time meet.
