Description
A frontal composition places five singular figures at the heart of the image. The line is affirmed. The faces, with skewed proportions, express an immediate intensity.
The gouache saturates the space with frank colors. A deep red dominates the background and the suits. A sustained green and a luminous yellow rhythm the scene.
The characters wear varied hats. A pointed cap overlooks a wide smile while a red top hat frames a fixed gaze.
The staging evokes a festive parade. The textures are worked with precision, notably in the geometric patterns of a blue and yellow jacket.
The execution testifies to rigorous technical mastery. The chromatic contrasts reinforce the theatrical aspect of this group.
This painting was created in the year 2000. It is part of a portrait work favoring the strength of the line. The silhouettes stand out against a dark background suggesting urban architecture.

Upon his release from the Saintes prison in 1996, Edgardo goes back to Uruguay. He entrusted the works created in prison to the prison's assistant.
1st prize in engraving at the Batuz foundation in 1999.
It was in 2002 that I met Edgardo Flores, through his lawyer. We decided to dedicate a retrospective to him, with all of his work.
This exhibition will be a great moment, a beautiful meeting between a true artist, and many amateurs or collectors who will have a real crush for his work!
