Description
Moonlight is a delicate oil on canvas realized by the great artist Salvo in 2008. Landscapes are the favourite subject of Salvo's latest production, where is often revived the romantic night landscape. Exhibitions: - “Salvo - Stefanoni: Partita Doppia”, Civic Gallery of the City of Valdagno Civic Gallery of Modern Art of Valdagno In this refined painting, the artist created harmonious geometries between the lines of light and shadow which play with the shapes of the trees. Salvatore Mangione, better known as Salvo (Leonforte, Enna, 1947 -Turin, 2015) is perhaps one of the most cryptic and fascinating characters in the history of Italian art of the 20th century. A restless, eclectic artist, who created unique artworks in which there is no human presence, like in many De Chirico's works, his great master and inspirer. Salvo’s eclectic journey - from the beginnings in the contest of Arte Povera (“Poor Art”), to an American-inspired Conceptualism, and then finally returning to the figure and the landscape - is beautifully reflected in his timeless artistic production.
