Joyful and Colorful Compositions
The pursuit of happiness. It is not just found in the everyday life of those who seek it, but also in the works of those who wish to render and capture it. It is unsurprising that in the color theory of art, color is used to evoke joy by artists within compositions. Regardless of the canvas and even the movement, color aids the expression of the artist. In abstract art, color is used in its most simplistic form. In more realistic work, capturing the recognizable in every shade and sharing an expression of joy reveals an insight into the artist's mind – revealing if they are in the pursuit of happiness too. To share joy is to celebrate it and remind the viewer that it can still be found. Artsper's works include that of Seize Happywallmaker whose name reveals that the colorful, geometric shapes that affront the viewer amidst their urban landscape serves as a reminder – don't forget to be happy. Whilst Mathilde de Bellecombe is determined to evoke her favorite subjects such as hope, our daily pursuit for happiness and the possible paths available to us in life. Her abstract paintings of flat colors are full of walking figures, always left blank but hopeful as they journey off into the landscape.
