Marie-Thérèse Chanel

Marie-Thérèse Chanel reveals with great sensitivity the soul of landscapes, faces, objects or flowers that she transcribes on her canvas.

Taking the time and contemplating the surrounding environment are the key words at the origin of the artist's creative process. She produces unique, authentic and sometimes even unusual works of animated compositions in radiant colors, in oil with a knife or in pastel. On his linen canvas initially prepared with acrylic, the oil paint is applied with a knife with colors always composed of skilful mixtures. The orchestration of flamboyant colors and the game in the elaboration of the painting, allow us to glimpse the emotions and the soul of the artist.

When Marie-Thérèse uses pastel as her main medium, she applies the material with her finger on an abrasive paper and works her shadows to bring out intense lights using a more flexible and crumbly pastel. Thus, all the sensuality of pure pigments emerges from the canvas to offer its audience a unique spectacle.

The work of Marie-Thérèse Chanel is an invitation to travel through which the viewer escapes and perceives the beauty of an inner world.
