Description
Inga Makarova’s Spring Vibes bursts with color, symbolism, and a touch of playful irony. This panoramic oil painting, created in 2020, celebrates the arrival of spring through an explosion of cherry blossoms rendered in radiant blues against a vivid pink background. But at the heart of this floral fantasy lies a golden surprise - two bees engaged in a moment of unapologetic intimacy, quietly defying the usual decorum of still-life tradition.
The work balances botanical beauty with tongue-in-cheek humor, offering more than just a pretty picture of nature’s awakening. The vibrant palette evokes freshness and warmth, while the composition’s horizontal flow mimics the organic sprawl of blooming branches. Yet, it is the bold placement of the mating bees that catches the eye and invites a second look-hinting at fertility, renewal, and life’s unstoppable drive forward.
With Spring Vibes, Makarova plays with contrasts: soft versus bold, floral elegance versus insectual mischief, timeless beauty versus fleeting instinct. It’s a painting that rewards the attentive viewer with both visual pleasure and a smile. Ideal for collectors who appreciate contemporary art with layered meaning and a wink.
Presentation
“To create something meaningful, something real, you should truly love what you do, as well as the way you do it, and always be passionate about it. For me art will never turn into a boring routine, as I truly enjoy transferring my thoughts and ideas into artworks." Inga Makarova
Inga Makarova is an award-winning Ukrainian painter, sculptor and draftsman. With a background in fashion and graphic design, she translates both worlds into her mixed media compositions. Inga is constantly experimenting with new themes, concepts, images, new combination of colours and forms. Lately, in addition to various sources of light (like neon or LED that are used directly in her artworks), she also started experimenting with various objects that are often quite far from art, for example sport jackets, tableware, cutlery, and even cigarette butts. Inga Makarova's desire to innovate, rather than imitate, allows her to turn even the most ordinary themes into something new, unique, and fresh, once it got reflected in her artworks.
