Description
Inga Makarova’s Wedding is a symbolic and emotionally charged work that captures the essence of human connection at its most intimate. Two graceful hands reach toward each other, linked by fine strands that symbolise the invisible forces which bind people together – love, trust, memory, commitment. These threads appear weightless yet impossibly strong.
The drawing is set against a deep terracotta backdrop, its central image framed by a decorative ring of pearls and swirling white ornamentation. The overall effect suggests ritual, ceremony, and devotion. The hands themselves are not skeletal or generic – they are stylised, expressive, and very much alive, caught mid-gesture in a moment of delicate balance.
By distilling the symbolism of marriage into pure gesture and line, Makarova invites viewers to reflect on what truly connects two individuals. Wedding is a work of quiet power and poetic resonance, ideal for collectors who value art that speaks through subtlety and symbolism.
Presentation
“To create something meaningful, something real, you should truly love what you do, as well as the way you do it, and always be passionate about it. For me art will never turn into a boring routine, as I truly enjoy transferring my thoughts and ideas into artworks." Inga Makarova
Inga Makarova is an award-winning Ukrainian painter, sculptor and draftsman. With a background in fashion and graphic design, she translates both worlds into her mixed media compositions. Inga is constantly experimenting with new themes, concepts, images, new combination of colours and forms. Lately, in addition to various sources of light (like neon or LED that are used directly in her artworks), she also started experimenting with various objects that are often quite far from art, for example sport jackets, tableware, cutlery, and even cigarette butts. Inga Makarova's desire to innovate, rather than imitate, allows her to turn even the most ordinary themes into something new, unique, and fresh, once it got reflected in her artworks.
