Description
The infinite possibility of interpretation of the same element: the central axis of the work of Franco Salas Borquez.
Franco Salas Borquez was born in 1979, on the Island of Chiloé in the South Austral of Chile. The artist creates maritime scenes of dizzying beauty, testifying to the immense strength of nature and the fragility of human beings. Franco Salas Borquez has reinterpretation as a common thread, and likes to compare a game of chess to the process of painting: the same elements are always present, but have an infinity of possibilities. In his paintings, the artist offers a large amount of detail giving a certain intensity to his works. On top of that it uses a lot of steps bringing a lot of nuances, textures, vibes. For him, painting is a subtle and poetic language. Coming from a family of sailors, Franco Salas Borquez likes to use his intuition to paint.

He also received the Prize of the Institute of Maritime History and Culture of Spain (Naval Museum of Madrid in 2010) and a letter of congratulations from the Minister of Defense "42nd Salon de la Marine", Naval Museum of Paris, Palais Chaillot, 2011.
