Description
In her new paintings, Andrea Lein employs her painterly repertoire with greater precision. She succeeds in conveying her joy in the fusion of childlike imagination and painterly poetry to the viewer. Her most recent works depict focused compositions that take on a Kafkaesque quality. As a result, the paintings appear simpler on the surface, yet are intellectually more complex. They no longer aim to sweep the viewer's imagination away, but rather to entice them into a mystery.
The work has the catalogue raisonné number: AL 194
