Artist Statement:

Zoran's work deals with the message and code that live in an arena where ideas are let to transcend cognitive distance between people. It does not have a subject, object, or justification. It does not depict, symbolize or represent. There is no obvious key to reading his art. The work comes as an aesthetic experience, created in a state of mind where concepts of space and time become suspended.
Zoran started transforming found objects, furniture, wooden boxes, and newspapers for his artwork in 2002, while he was studying at the University of the Arts London. In his public installations and performances, Zoran has long since explored nature of communication within the limits of space and time. In 2011, a friend of his gave him a canvas that another artist used for drying excess oil paint from her brushes. Instead of painting something on it and destroying the original look of the splatter of paint, Zoran rotated the canvas 90 degrees clockwise and hang it on the wall like a finished painting.
In the following months, he painted an Art Deco cabinet in reference to the painting and explored the process as a vehicle of communication. To bypass cognitive biases rooted in human experience and to limit the work to rhythm and code, the paint on the surface does not have a subject, object, or matter. It does not story-tell, symbolize or represents. It is just as it is. Continuous, uninterrupted, three dimensional. It is the process of layering paint and perception of the paint. It is about the message embedded in rhythm and color.
