This artwork presents a haunting exploration of identity and presence, dominated by earthy tones. On the left, a solitary figure with a shaved head is highlighted against the muted background, its features calm yet contemplative. To the right, the silhouette of a more ethereal figure suggests a ghostly presence, compelling in its indistinctness. Strikingly, the boundary between the figures and the background blurs, enhancing a sense of mystery and depth. Above, a serene sky with a subtle burst of color introduces a contrast, hinting at hope or enlightenment. The piece's unique texture and layered composition create an intriguing interplay between the visible and the hidden, asking viewers to ponder the relationships between past and present, self and shadow.
Presentation
Lale Altinkurt was born in 1971 in Eskişehir. After graduating from Anadolu University Graduate School of Social Sciences, Arts and Crafts Education Program in 1997, she completed Social Sciences, Doctoral (Phd) Program in Fine Arts Education Arts in 2003.
In 2003 she started working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dumlupinar University. She currently works as an Associate Professor at Dumlupinar University. She has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe, the USA and the Middle East.
