Presentation
Silas is a Marseille artist born in 1985, specialist in portraits and live models.
Its raw material is the body, and everything it can translate from its intentions, its feelings. Then there is light, preferably artificial. He poses his models while taking the time to work on the lighting. He always paints with the same light, neon lights lit with closed windows. Then there is color, how does the skin receive light and reflect it? What impressions does the eye keep on its retina? Purple? Pink? Blue? Green?
"I am fascinated by Humans, people, their behavior, their reactions... and perhaps even more by the body. Besides painting, I have the chance to draw at the assizes. Always in the same places, but never the same people, the same stories...Slices of life, most often broken, which nourish my work as a painter."
