Description
"Stand By" is a charming art piece that features a baby girl standing and holding various playful items. The main focus of the painting is the baby girl herself, who is depicted holding a teddy bear in her right hand and a circle lollipop candy in her left hand.
In a creative twist, the artist has placed a vintage TV set on the baby girl's head, with a butterfly displayed on the screen. This adds a whimsical element to the artwork, showcasing the innocence and imagination of childhood.
The background of the painting consists of a floral pattern wallpaper, which adds a vibrant and lively atmosphere to the scene. The floral pattern further emphasizes the beauty and innocence associated with childhood.
The artwork is created on a 92 x 60 acrylic canvas, providing a substantial size to capture the details and charm of the subject. The painting was made in the Philippines, adding a touch of cultural context to the piece.
Overall, "Stand By" is a delightful art piece that combines elements of childhood nostalgia, imagination, and vibrant aesthetics to create a visually appealing and evocative scene.
Presentation
Irish Glori Galon is a Boholana artist now making waves in the local art scene. A would-be architect, she chose to set aside her lucrative career in favor of her art.
Irish has won the Grand Prize in PVAF, an honorable mention on AAP’s On-the-Spot competition, and is a three-time Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE) finalist.
Irish continues to wow audiences with her surreal yet melancholic pieces that are an extension of her memory, the narrative of her past experiences, her hopes for the future, and the pulsations of her heart and soul.
